Jack & Jill
Jack & Jill competitions are designed to highlight skills in spontaneous WCS dancing and the ability to dance well with a variety of partners. Competitors enter as individuals, are randomly assigned partners, and dance to music selected by Raw Connection. Male competitors must enter as "leaders" and female competitors must enter as "followers."
All entries must be received by 15th June 2010.
Student Category
Anyone who does not fall into the Teacher category must dance in this category. If a person is competing in the Teacher Strictly Swing competition but does not meet the Teacher Jack & Jill requirements individually (i.e. they are dancing up because of their partner), that person must compete in this category.
Teacher Category
People who teach West Coast Swing on a semi-regular basis as well as people who have been dancing West Coast Swing for over three (3) years must dance in this category.
Strictly Swing
Strictly Swing competitions are designed to highlight skills in spontaneous WCS dancing with a chosen partner. Competitors enter as couples and dance to music selected by Raw Connection. Because you choose your own partner, there are no restrictions on gender or lead. You and your partner may choose to lead, follow, or switch roles.
All entries must be received by 15th June 2010.

Team Showcase
The Teams competition is designed to highlight skills in choreographed WCS dancing by couples dancing in formation. Each team supplies its own music and performs a group routine prepared in advance.
All entries must be received by 15th June 2010.
A team must consist of 3 or more couples dancing a choreographed routine for a minimum of 2 and a half minutes. Couples may include any combination of gender or experience level. Switching partners and reverse lead/follow are allowed. At least 70% of the dancing must be recognisable as West Coast Swing.
Each team must appoint a team leader to serve as the official contact for the team. The team leader is responsible for attending the contestant meeting and submitting the entry and the music selection to Raw Connection by 15th June 2010.
Please Note
As West Coast Swing is a growing dance style in Australia, it is difficult to set defined guidelines for participating in competitions. For this reason and in the interest of fairness for the majority of competitors, Raw Connection West Coast Swing Pty Ltd reserves the right to determine at its absolute discretion the category of any person participating in the Strictly Swing and Jack & Jill competitions.
